OmG Anna, I love you and all the savings you give us, but you really need to learn the difference between your and you're. It's not that I'm petty or anything, but you ARE being followed by a lot of people and we all look forward to seeing your posts. It makes sense that you'd want to be as literate as possible. Like I said, I love you and all your posts, not trying to be mean or a b**ch. :)

@ Anonymous The coupons in the newspaper inserts have been slightly different from region to region lately and you may not get all of them. You could always go buy off ebay.com, a clipping service or ask a relative or friend in a different city or state to buy the inserts and send them to you. Also, you should always check to make sure your inserts are in the newspaper before you buy it.

Seriously, who takes time out of their day to post a comment such as the one above. Sounds like you need to learn the difference between being appreciative and being a b**ch. Really? Get a life!

No Yolks Egg White Pasta $1.50
$0.40/1 No Yolks Egg White Pasta: Coupon(http://www.mommysavesbig.com/grocery-coupons.html)

This is the link for Coupons.com. Since No Yolks is food use the “SORT BY CATEGORIES” on the left hand side and click on "Foods". That way you don’t have to search through all the pages.

Welcome! The best two sources to get coupons are the newspaper and online. The newspaper coupons you will collect and save (for when there is a sale) each week. I recommend buying a few copies for the paper each weekend (i personally buy 4) or asking your neighbors and friends to bring you theirs if they are not saving the coupons. Also, check to see if your local paper includes sunday coupons in their saturday edition (this can save you extra money!) which is usually cheaper. Online printables are more complicated because they have several sites, but i would suggest coupons dot com, smartsource dot com and redplum dot com to start with. Ink can cost a ton of money but also printables are only available a limited amount of time, so you'll have to figure out what system works best for you. I would not recommend printing everything on those sites (please, learn from my mistakes) because you'll end up spending more on ink than food. I too am recently unemployed and i hope this helps you get started. I guess the best advice i got when i started (beyond where and how to get coupons) was to buy extra. I have never had extra of anything in my kitchen as I am not rich, or close to it. This first time pasta was on sale with a coupon and i was paying 7 cents a box, i bought 2 (why not 4!)and ended up paying over a dollar for the same pasta two weeks later. Lesson learned, buy extra! And also when paying with coupons, have a copy of the store coupon policy with you so you can refer to it (and refer the cashier/manager to it) if you have any problems. I could keep going forever, but i'll finish with you can do this! It isn't like you see on TV, but you can save a ton for money. I feed 3 people a week for less than $30.

Samantha, i too am new to couponing, after a 15 year hiatus, and in the past month i have saved over $300 by using coupons. my first trip was around thanksgiving and the store had triple coupons. the store was a circus. everyone had binders full of coupons and many of the good deals couldnt be had because the shelves were empty. (on a good sale or triple coupons, go to the store the first day!).but i still saved 49% on my first two trips. i went to walmart today and saved 73%. when i saved 38% at kroger this evening, i felt like i failed!
couponing is addicting and time consuming. but in the end it is worth it!
people like Anna that take the time to post deals for us to use are amazing.
i also like krazy coupon lady
how to start:
collect coupons
make a list to match the stores ad
and organize your coupons by your stores layout.
having all your canned good coupons in one batch,(as an example), will save you from going all over the store, wasting your time.
good luck!
my best deals today:
walmart...
aquafresh toothpaste- travel size-after coupon- free
one gallon freezer bags-on clearance- after coupon-.06 box!

Shopping at Wal Mart is a JOKE, especially when they DO NOT stock there shelves, but most of all you have to stand there & argue with a cashier about using a coupon. They NEED TO TRAIN there so called employees. I use to spend a lot of money in that store but as of today I will NOT SET FOOT inthat store. I would rather go to Target & pay full price!!!!!!!

newbie here :) First of all..thank you to whomever is taking time out of their day to help us save $$ :)
Secondly...can anyone explain to me what the letters at the end stand for? For example:
Suave Deodorant $0.97
$0.75/1 Suave Deodorant - 1/8 SS <----this? and where do i get a coupon for it??
$0.50/1Suave Deodorant - 1/8 SS
$1.00/2 Suave Deodorant - 1/8 SS
- Final Price: As low as $0.22
Axe Detailer or Shower Gel 12oz $3.47
B1G1 Axe Shower Gel or Detailer - 1/8 RP <---this one, too :)
- Final Price: $1.74

Felicia...
Hi :) Wal-Mart does in fact have SOME store coupons :)
They have Parent's Choice brand baby items, diapers, wipes, formula, etc.
Ive saved many a dollar using their coupons for the things my nephew needs :)
For instance I had 16 Free 12.3 oz cans of formula coupons from parents choice. :) Wont have to buy formula for a while :)
Just thought I'd let you know :)

J.S.,
Welcome! For the Suave if it says 1/8 SS it means it came out of the January-8 Smart Source insert out of the newspaper.
For the Axe it says 1/8 RP it means it came out of the January-8 Red Plum insert out of the newspaper.
Some regions all do not get the same insert value, so I list all of the possible coupons that can be used. You would want to stick to the first one, If you don't have that one move to the second, etc.
Also thank you for the information about the Walmart store coupons. I hope your nephew enjoys his free formula. Great haul!

I don't think its fair to say "they need to train their employees" some of us couponers are cashiers AT WALMART! I know the policy like the back of my hand..many couponers get mad when I won't accept their coupons because it clearly states 4 per transaction of 4 per person..get over it..its policy! To ensure that the other customers can get the product they come in to get. I can't tell you how many times a day I hear "you don't have this" well unfortunately the people who come in and clear the shelves didn't think about the other people who come in because they NEED it..greed is taking the fun out of couponning from my standpoint. I coupon frequently but I also play by the rules.

If the product has a coupon on it and says save now. Can u not used your coupon and that one at wal mart.Plus the k y product coupon they would not accept because they said it was a scam. When i printed off their site. What a horrible day shopping I had yesterday. They treated me like I was a crimical and said that if everyone could save this much money more people would do it. Like it was just not possible to used coupons.

Message: at walmart, they will price match and take competitors coupons (target, ie.). On three deals, you could have used those factors....
1. aquafresh toothpaste, $1.50 off (target coupon)
and $1.00 off (website), they will price match vons to 1.99 and it is a money maker!!
2. comet...vons and walmart both have it for .99 an .97 respectively, so that is free too.
3. dial liquid hand soap, blue spring water is .99 at vons and there is a $3/6 (coupond.com)and bogo at walgreens or there are $1/2 (use3) at target.com

I had a huge question...
so on your blog you put that colgate toothpaste costs $.94 at walmart and if you use a $.75 coupon you could get it for $.19, The problem I saw was that the $.75 coupon requieres the toothpaste to be 4oz or larger and last time I went to walmart, that toothpaste that was $.94 was less than 4oz. So how do I make this work?? help

After reading all of these posts regarding coupons for grocery items. Since many of us have children I wanted to inform you on how I have saved sooo much money on children's clothing. My son is nine and I am a single mother with a nine year old. We went to Old Navy on Monday, I have a credit card through them and use it to pay for all of my bills, once I pay that off every month I get bonus rewards for the store (which is treated like cash) I also get coupons mailed (for example: 30% off) so we walked out of the store on 5.6.13 with 12 shirts, 2 shorts, 1 pants for a total of 98.00 and only paid .48 cents! So coupons work for clothing too. Keep in mind that we only shop the clearance section. But my son who has been couponing with me since he can remember was sooo proud of us that he had to tell all of his friends! I hope this helps all of y'all out there!
Lastly, thank you Anna for this wonderful site. It truly inspires those of us or are a smart shopper! I can appreciate that not everyone is perfect so to all of you out there, just remember "it's water off a duck's back"!

WWOOWW!
